Meet Lindsey Taylor of Ella Grey Events in East

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Taylor.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In the spring of 2007, I officially planned my first wedding. Over the next few years, friends and family members commented on my creativity and style, inevitably leading me to plan the biggest days of their lives.

Upon graduating from the University of North Texas, I started working in Media at Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. I enjoyed my job but wasn’t fulfilled. My aspirations of owning my own business were overwhelming, and after planning my own wedding, I found my true calling!

With a dream in my heart and the drive to start my own business, Ella Grey Events was born in the summer of 2016. With a handful of clients and encouragement from my husband, I decided to take the plunge and leave Corporate America behind, making my dream of event and wedding planning a reality.

We are celebrating our 3 year anniversary this summer and couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds for Ella Grey Events.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall, the process of starting and owning my own business has been smooth; however, with any start-up business, you quickly learn what direction your business needs to take to yield the best results. It’s a learning process that definitely can’t be learned overnight.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Ella Grey Events – what should we know?
I started Ella Grey Events as a wedding planning and day-of-coordination company. After working with a few brides, ultimately, I realized that most were looking for the same thing; someone they could undoubtedly trust to make their wedding day one of the most everlasting memories they’ve experienced to date, someone that is incredibly organized, all while reducing the stress that comes with the wedding planning process. All of that being said, I realized it was of the utmost importance to become a one-stop shop. Streamlining efficiency and convenience was imperative, which is the foundation of Ella Grey Events.

Ella Grey Events offers event planning, full and partial wedding planning, wedding day-of-coordination, creative design, rentals, florals, a design studio, and honeymoon planning.

We have over 1,000 rentals, from linens, table settings, decor and more.

We offer a full service in-house floral shop and create unique floral arrangements from bouquets, ceremony arrangements, centerpieces and more.

In our innovative design studio, we create one-of-a-kind custom designs from welcome signs to personalized glassware.

My passion for traveling and providing direction for itineraries is something I truly enjoy, therefore these additional services were icing on the cake.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My biggest supporters have definitely been my husband, Chance, and my mom, Sherry. My husband convinced me to leave behind a job that I was comfortable in to start a journey that I never imagined was possible. My mom has been by my side at every single event I’ve had and has supported me every step of the way. She is definitely my right-hand woman!

I also have an amazing team! Nathan manages the rentals and runs the kitchen, without him I wouldn’t be able to offer plates, glassware, stemware, etc. He is our muscle and is amazing! Sherry, Stacey, and Mandy are miracle workers. They completely get my style and design. When we all walk into the blank canvas that is a venue, we all get to work to transform the rooms and create, what I and my clients believe, are the most beautiful masterpieces.

Our newest addition is actually a past bride of mine. Alexis married the love of her life in October of 2018 and had such a great time planning her wedding with me, that she wanted to join my team and help other brides have an amazing experience like she did!
