Meet Maddy Lea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddy Lea.

Maddy Lea is a 9-year-old professional Cosplayer, actress and model. She has been featured at numerous big conventions, such as Fan Expo and Fandemic tour. She has also appeared in a National Great Wolf Lodge commercial, a Superbowl commercial for NBC, and an award-winning short film called Alora.

Maddy Lea started her career at five years old working at haunted houses. She was horribly shy and had severe social anxiety. When she would dress up and wear makeup, she could be herself and came out of her shell. During her kindergarten year of school, she was bullied for being different from the usual kindergartners in the class, this only gave her more of a drive to pursue her dreams. As she grew older, her career grew as well and branched into other genres.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Her biggest obstacle was the bullying and non-acceptance of her peers, she knows what she wants to do and will not let anyone tell her she can’t!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Maddy Lea – what should we know?
Maddy Lea has branded herself in her cosplay as a little girl, who wants to spread the message that anybody can do anything they aspire to! Her most iconic cosplay is Pennywise! The merchandise that she sells at conventions displays her positive message, “Don’t just Dream it… Be IT!”

She loves interacting with other children and does many metroplex charity events to inspire other kids to embrace their differences.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Maddy Lea is an amazing actress and has the ability to take on whatever character she decides to portray! She has a very loving heart and it is not unusual to see her on the floor in a hoop skirt hugging other children.
