Art & Life with Sweaterboi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sweaterboi.

Sweaterboi, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Back in December of ’07, my mom bought me a Mac laptop with Garage Band. About the same time, I played drums in a metal band where I used some of those Garage Band skills in our live shows.

After getting into hip-hop in 2011, listening to the likes of Logic, G-Eazy, and Wiz Khalifa, I started making beats. I didn’t take music very seriously once I got to college, but that all changed shortly after graduating and meeting Symbolyc One in June of 2018 at the “S1 Assembly” in Dallas.

The assembly is when I realized how possible it really is to make it in the music industry, so I started taking things seriously and came up with a game plan to market myself. I’ve got several projects that are wrapping up very soon with artists from all over the country so keep an eye out for some HITS this summer!

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m like the Tom Brady of producing. An average guy with a lot of heart, know-how, and someone with a lot of potentials.

I’m an artist. I primarily produce music, but I’m also an engineer, play drums, dabble on the piano and guitar, film, video edit, and take pictures. Honestly, I don’t think I’m really that great at anything, but I have a strong ability to know if something sounds/looks dope or not.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success to me is relative. 500K followers, a million plays on Spotify, major placements, and recognition is nice and everything, but to me, if I am having a good time, I’ve made it.

I can truly get lost making music. For countless hours at a time. One, two, three… six hours pass by, and I’ve spent all day in the studio without even realizing it. Being able to keep doing that is the success I want to have every day.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
All of my music is curated through my IG. My followers have instant access to my studio sessions, music release notifications, and a place to find other talented artists that I work with. The best way to support is to follow and get engaged on my IG!

My next major release is a single called “2020” and “Woah Buddy” by “2sday” (IG: @its_2sday) coming out March 12th and 19th respectively! Available everywhere!
