Meet Brandon Walker of The Walker Review

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Walker.

Brandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I can honestly say TheWalkerReview was started out of pure laziness, which is definitely a blessing remembering all of the details that manifested in our first every interview. As a journalist at Texas A&M-Commerce, I was approached by some of my peers who asked if I could do a write up about their debut mixtape they had recently released. At that time instead of doing a write-up, I offered to sit down and do a video interview, which became the first ever TheWalkerReview interview ever recorded.

From there my notoriety began to grow as I continued to interview other known athletes & artist inside the entire DFW area. TheWalkerReview was something different in the era where blogging became a real-life game changer in the promotion of artistry and dynamic. As the brand continued to grow so did the stories and the guest on the show. We have had the opportunity of sitting down with guests such as Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart, Comedians DC YoungFly & Tony Roberts, and more.

For three years TheWalkerReview has continued to thrive in efforts to reach the eyes and ears of all entrepreneurs regardless of age or gender to give them a platform to not only tell their distinct stories ,but also give them a lens to motivate others from their own life experiences that comes from their trial and error periods of success and failure.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, not at all I can honestly stay that my passion & love for TheWalkerReview is honestly the only reason why it is still here. I can say that I stopped recording interviews for TheWalkerReview for about a year because after graduating college I got accepted into a Graduate school program, which put a lot of strain on my time that I dedicated to TheWalkerReview that I then had to put into focusing on school. I even began to have self-doubts about the brand as it seemed like everyone now wanted to be a blogger or carry a camera and do interviews. But I’ve always had people in my life who have drilled into my mentality that “What is for you can never be taken away.” Those words tend to give me burst of encouragement whenever I have a block in creativity or begin to question my why’s to what I am doing.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with TheWalkerReview – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
So what TheWalkerReview specializes in is bringing the “realness” and genuineness out of the conversations we display on our platform. In other media platforms, they gain a lot of their viewership from asking questions that create drama or “click bait” as they say in the media world. What we do is allow our guest to use our platform to motivate and inspire the younger generation that may look up to them in a positive way. Also, we don’t only interview athletes and artist.

We enjoy interviewing people who have passions in a variety of different areas. Because in this current generation there are young minds all over the world who may not want to be a rapper or athlete, but may have interest in wanting to be a chief, actor, or even politicians, but just may not know what questions to ask or even have the resources of people to even ask to guide them in the right direction who could possibly be on TheWalkerReview that they can learn from. Those moments captured on TheWalkerReview could actually jumpstart something within them to find their passion.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the most about Dallas is our continuous growth there’s always something new happening rapidly more and more out here. It makes living in Dallas very interesting watching things growth. And one of the things I dislike about our city is the lack of resources we have as far as in the media & music industry it is always said that people have to leave Dallas in order to be successful in certain markets that have more sustainable pathways into success in those career paths.
