Meet Kara Vallenari of Prime Home Staging in Downtown Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kara Vallenari.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am from a family of real estate investors. They were constantly running into issues finding a reasonably priced home staging company that had sufficient inventory to stage their flip homes. I saw an opportunity and ran at it full force. I started staging their properties followed by a few of their investor friends, that was two years ago and now we are servicing the entire DFW metroplex.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been everything but a smooth road. Many sleepless nights trying to stage multiple properties within one day with limited staff and resources. I wouldn’t have done it any other way, I am immensely proud of the blood, sweat (tons of it), and tears that have built this company. We did not start out with any capital and have grown solely through reinvesting all of our profit into more inventory. For the first year I supported myself through bartending and flip design consultations. We have recently partnered with an investor and are now growing at lightening speeds.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in catering to both Real Estate Investors and Realtors. Before I started the staging company, I was a full time Realtor, having this background helps me cater to the mindset and needs of Realtors. Coming from a family of real estate investors I also understand their unique position and hurdles as well. Knowing my direct clientele so personally helps me to anticipate and cater to their needs. They know I am flexible, consistent, and priced reasonably as opposed to the majority of Dallas home stagers.

We also offer bundled services: make-ready cleaning, staging, photography, and discount rate listing services for our investors. This means they can contact one company, schedule once, write one check, as opposed to four times over.

Lastly, over 78% of homes we stage accept an offer within 2 weeks. The cost of one price reduction is normally far more expensive than the price of our staging: we help make the correct first impression on buyers and hit the market with the home’s best foot forward.

What were you like growing up?
I was independent, curious, and obsessed with the ascetics of rooms. I would clean, rearrange the furniture, and light candles before I’d sit down to do my homework. I was deeply interested and maybe a little OCD about how rooms made you feel when you were in them.
