Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarric Tucker.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jarric. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Dallas, Texas on May 11, 1988. I started off modeling when I was about four years old as a Gerber model in Ft. Worth. As the years past, I focused more on sports (basketball, soccer, football) The way I played basketball I was for sure I was going to the NBA but at the age of 17, I wanted to give modeling one more shot.
So my mother signs me up for barbazon modeling school. After I finished school, I realized modeling wasn’t my thing. I was always a class clown in school and teachers always told me acting out isn’t going to get me anywhere. A good friend reached out to me about being a part of his film called “The rise”. I saw my craft unfold right in front of my eyes. After the rise, I found myself going after multiple roles around Dallas as well as a few television appearances. As of now, you can see me on one of Dallas’s own wed series (on amazon prime) called “Washed.”
Has it been a smooth road?
It was times where I wanted to give it up. Auditions weren’t coming in and I just couldn’t find work. I was told I was too old for acting and as well as a few “no” and few doors slammed in my face but it never stopped me. It actually pushed me harder. I have tasted the dirt so much I kinda gotta used to it but I knew how to get back on my feet. Every time I got knocked down my family and I picked me right back up and every time I was on the ground I thought about my family and how they needed me.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an actor. I specialize in making others laugh as well as living others life from my point of view. I must say I am proud of the journey I am on and how I never gave up. My hustle sets me apart from others. Why others are sleep, I am up reaching out to actors and directors not being for a job but asking for advice. I’m always bettering my craft.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is on the rise in the acting world. I can see Dallas being the new Hollywood or Atlanta. We have great producers and actors out here and who are ready to work. You just have to have more hustle to show. Don’t put yourself on anyone else’s level. Be your own.
