Meet Regan Sullivan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regan Sullivan.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I specifically remember standing in Best Buy with my dad back in 2010 when my dad bought me my first DSLR. I was a freshman in high school, and I’d had a point-and-shoot throughout middle school that I constantly had on me. I’m so grateful that he saw the potential in me through something like that. From there, photography was my favorite hobby. My dad also enjoys photography, so we would go on daddy-daughter dates to capture city lights and whatnot, and he taught me the ropes of how to shoot manual. Through high school, I shot as a hobby with my friends, and in college, I realized it was something I could make a business out of. That’s when I began Regan Sullivan Photography. It was a leap of faith to make my art so public, but it paid off, and I’m now a part-time wedding and portrait photographer. It’s a deep joy to get to capture intimate moments like proposals and weddings. I still love photography outside of my business, too, and will forever hold close the photos I capture of my loved ones when I’m spending time with them. Those photos are what will always be most important to me.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer. Capturing the beauty around me, in nature and in people, is incredibly close to my heart. When I take pictures of people, I feel like I have the opportunity to point out to others the qualities that are so unique and engaging about them within a photograph. I believe that pictures have a way of bringing out the best in people, and I love to make people feel good about themselves. That could be in a lot of different ways, whether it be their joy lighting up a portrait, or their love absolutely glowing through an engagement or wedding photo.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
