Meet Elizabeth Liga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Liga.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Fashion has always been a part of me from childhood. It was always a way for me to express myself. Every garment or piece of fabric I owned would always be turned into something that it originally was not. To me, style determines my mood which explains why it is a form of expression. From the age of 16, I always wanted to own a personal shopping and styling firm, I just never knew how. I got my degree in fashion merchandising believing that being a buyer would be great. As time went by, I realized that I always found joy each time I would assist a customer in finding the perfect item. They would leave in a better mood than what they came in with. As God would have it and is extremely amazing with His sense of humor, he reminded me about my dream of being a personal shopper and stylist. I still was scared to go with it because I did not know how It would come to life. Each time, I applied for stylist jobs, I would always get rejected, so I figured it was probably just a passion or a dream that is not meant to be. So I told to myself, it is time to look into another career, but instead God will always remind me of my dreams. Styling is not just about dressing people up, but it is making sure you are comfortable in your skin, wearing your clothes instead of them wearing you, and having confidence in yourself. So I realized what I was missing was confidence in myself and I couldn’t give that to people If I did not have it myself. As soon as I realized that and building my brand on Instagram, one of the jobs I applied for a long time ago called me and offered me a job. It was like a dream come true but what God reminded me was “He cannot not give me anything that I am not ready for”. My dreams suddenly became true, and now everything around me is coming together. I am currently a personal stylist at Front Door Fashion and living in my purpose.

Please tell us about your art.
People know me for taking one piece of clothing and wearing them in different ways. My goal is for people to feel great about what they wear not just externally but internally. I ensure that people have amazing closets that will bring them joy, peace, and confidence. I love to make my clients stand out everywhere they go. It is not about how many clothes you own in your closet, but it is about owning the right clothes for you. Quality matters but it is not about how much you spend on the items, but it is about how you wear it. Style is a form of expression. What you wear speaks a lot about who you are. My passion for styling is to make sure that you are proud of who you are, and it should not only be about the clothing, but your style should bring out the best out of you.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
My advice is to focus on your dreams. You might not have all the funds but use what you have to build your brand. Whatever you enjoy, God will always make a way for you to fund it. Lack of finances should not be an excuse because your gift and passion will make room for you.
