Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Flores.
Monica, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’ve been drawing since I was in the 3rd grade on and off. I’ve always known I wanted to be an artist. Now that I’m much older I wanna turn my passion into a career and be able to provide for my family as they have for me.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I love to paint. I mostly paint with acrylics because it’s what I started with, but I plan to explore with different types of mediums near the future. I mostly get my inspiration from my imagination, emotions, and what I see in the world. What I hope people can take away from my artwork is raw emotions and a piece of me. What people should know about my artwork is that it will always have meaning behind it a story to my life.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
I feel like life has became easier for artists because of social media allowing us to be able to share our work with others across the world. Ways cities can encourage and help art and artists thrive to help get them exposure. Host free events for artists to come out and sell their work and creativity
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I have an Instagram dedicated to my artwork it’s called @m.f_artz
By supporting me, it’s simple like, comment, share, and follow me
