Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Howell.
Rose, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Fitness is such a huge part of my life. I grew up in Kenya and that is where it all started. I used to walk miles to school and I always credit that part of my life because that is where my fitness journey started. I was involved in different sports in Kenya at a young age. Fast forward to moving to America, I was in a soccer team in high school which helped me stay active. I didn’t play soccer in college but I did join an indoor soccer team which kept me in shape.
I was working out all the time and my friends would come to me for fitness advice. One day someone suggested I start training people since I enjoyed working out so much. At the time I was in college with two jobs and personal training became the third job. I was busy! One day my husband who is an entrepreneur advised me to pick One Job and focus on it. That’s when I picked RoseFit and I was ready to go all in! From Side-Hustle to Full-Hustle!
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road! But it has been soo worthy it! I didn’t really have a plan when I started. I wasn’t charging what I was worth, I wasn’t keeping up with my numbers, I didn’t know how to get clients and I didn’t know how to keep clients. To be honest, my mom expected me to be in the medical field and she didn’t really understand what I was doing at the time. I started out with doubting myself and I didn’t know if I was capable of becoming successful.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am in health and fitness business! I love helping people Live a Happy Positive Healthy Life! I am proud of getting to Change people’s lives through fitness. I know what fitness means to me and how much it has helped me so to be able to share that with the world means a lot to me. I believe fitness is not just about looking good but more about taking care of yourself Physically and Mentally.
What I love about my company is the opportunities that it has given me. I don’t just train people, I am able to organize 5k runs, give back to the community and have an apparel line.
What I am most proud of is using my business to give back!
I have used 5k runs to raise funds to give back. One of the 5k that I work close with is MUWA 5K that is a non-profit organization that helps educate young people in Kenya. We have this 5k in Frisco TX.
Last year, I went to Kenya and give back to a children home with the support of my RoseFit Squad (clients).
Also, I was able to have a RoseFit Fitness Event there where I teamed up with fitness trainers in Kenya (Laban Motaroki, Marion Bakhoya, and Sadiq Juma) and we were able to raise funds for a non-profit soccer team Ndovu FC that aims to provide a platform for young talented footballers (soccer).
Now that I am working online I am teaming up with different fitness companies.
One of them is Circ-it also know as Fit Everywhere. This company creates exercise equipment that you can use anywhere! Check them out at Fiteverywhere.com.
Another company I am working with is Enda. Enda is a company in Kenya that makes World-class premium running shoes designed to match Kenya’s excellent running reputation. Check them out at endasportswear.com.
