Today we’d like to introduce you to Vidal Dias.
Vidal Dias is the visionary behind Voyager. A deep fascination with science, aesthetic beauty, photography and travel led Dias to a career path that would combine all of these passions, Geology. As a Geologist, Dias traveled the globe and photographed his work, while simultaneously living out all of his passions.
During his travels, he struggled to find a backpack to fit his seemingly basic needs; light, weather-proof, eco-friendly, attractive and could easily fit underneath his seat. Dias decided to take on the challenge himself and designed his first bag, The Voyager X. With his creative passions flowing freely, Dias launched Voyager in 2016.
Vidal Dias is a native of Dallas, Texas. His earned his Geology degree from Western Kentucky University, where he met his wife. They now travel together with their two daughters, exploring new cities and venturing to exotic new places.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think that with every brand launch there will always be certain obstacles and challenges. For Voyager, part of those challenges were related to our original funding. Once we had that in place, other challenges presented themselves. Design ideas that were compatible with the material we wanted to use, for example. I wanted to be absolutely certain that during the manufacturing process, there was quality control in terms of the overall brand vision. Voyager bags are eco-friendly, durable, and stylish for every occasion, and we are proud that we are able to deliver that vision to the marketplace.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Voyager – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in creating carbon fiber fashion accessories, that are eco-friendly and unique. My goal is to position us as the brand of choice for those with luxury, eccentric taste. We attract people who have a mindset that is commonly associated with freedom, travel, fun, and anything potentially adventurous!
We are very proud of our Voyager II, the stylish lightweight, versatile backpack that really stands out from the “normal bag.” I decided to use carbon fiber because I wanted to represent the unique persona’s who valued standing out & being uniquely themselves, the carbon fiber is not only good for the environment and weatherproof, but it is used to mimic the luster and shimmer of a crystal. This was an idea that I pulled from my background in Geology and my love for rocks and stones.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love almost everything about Dallas. I love the people, the culture, and the diversity. I’m also very in love with the nature surrounding Dallas.
I believe one of the challenges we face as a city is finding a balance between our constant expansion and conserving our natural lands. I love the Trinity River, but I dislike how polluted it is. One of the primary elements defining my brand is that we are passionate about creating sustainable products that reduce our environmental impact.
