Richshundra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Realish Cosmetics was birth during a time period in my life when I was very intentional about getting to know God. I made it a priority to learn more about myself and increase my level of understanding of life in its entirety. I started to rediscover things I had always had an interest and passion for, but never really explored. This was not my first rodeo with entrepreneurship. It is, however, the first time that I took time to properly prepare myself mentally and spiritually. It was the first time that I felt called to spread a message and tell a story. No amount of makeup, flashy clothes, and a fake façade can outshine a beautiful being on the inside. I pray that Realish Cosmetics will be the catalyst to the convergence of inner and outer beauty for many.
After realizing that there was a need for a brand that emphasized the beauty of a woman as a whole and not just physically, I got busy. I got lost in researching. I stopped spending unnecessary money and began investing in my business. Realish Cosmetics Officially launched on February 1st, 2019. I love inspiring women to recreate the REALISH version of themselves.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, the road has not been easy. I came in knowing that there will be obstacles. It’s not easy building anything from the ground up, but it is the most rewarding and fulfilling work that I have done outside of being a mom. There will always be things that you have to learn from experience. Those experiences are sometimes costly, to say the least. I will always go the extra mile especially when it comes to quality. I want the best for my customers so if at any point I have to start over during the development process, I will gladly take that loss.
My best advice would be to keep going. Any resistance you feel is not new. Many people have gone before you and experienced those same thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The key is, they kept going.

I give my product’s names that have power and meaning so that they not only have women looking their best but actually help to feel their best.

We offer the best quality vegan, and paraben free, lipsticks at affordable prices. All of my liquid lipsticks are infused with coconut oil and vitamin E for a more moisturizing and luxurious feel.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Dedicate some time towards changing your mindset. I have learned that the way you process situations has the ability to change the trajectory of your future. You have to be willing to delay gratification. You have to make sure your efforts match your level of expectations. Always be willing and eager to learn. Keep God at the center of it all.
