Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Sparks.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started working at the Ye Ole Butcher Shop during high school for an agriculture class. I worked for the company until 1986 and then purchased it in March of that year. I have been enjoying it ever since, even bringing my son into the company in 2011.
Has it been a smooth road?
In the beginning, we were forced to move the shop to a new location because of city expansion. Because of this, we struggled with money but after we got on our feet, the business outgrew that location and into the site, we are now.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ye Ole Butcher Shop – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a full-service butcher shop, meat market, and restaurant. Hungry people travel from all over to try our specialty burgers. What sets us apart from others is our ability to grind the meat daily to serve a fresh burger every time.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about downtown Plano is the people. They have lived, worked and made a life here over the years and it feels like home.
