Meet Kendra Rene’ of Champagne Taste With A Beer Budget (CTBB) in Deep Ellum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Rene’.

Kendra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from Mississippi and at 21 decided there just had to be more that I was missing and decided I was ready to move! I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a college, that later turned out not to be the right fit for me, but I learned some very valuable lessons while there and ultimately learned my own strength. It would have been so easy to just pack up and move back, but I prayed and trusted God and myself. Almost six years later, I’m still here in Dallas!

I struggled for a while with the “what am I good at?” question. Everyone around me had their own little groove or a serious career path and I wasn’t seeing my little knacks for things as something I was good at or something I should “push forward” with. I struggled hard with wanting to do something by myself because I didn’t think my “followers” would support me or I was too concerned with validation from the wrong people.

Once I shook those things off, it was time for me to kick things into high gear because I was truly tired of the place I was in. I started brainstorming and writing down anything I had heard someone tell me I was good at, wish I shared more of, etc. I then found a TON of masterclasses, took notes, dug even deeper within myself and ultimately, that’s how – Champagne Taste With A Beer Budget (CTBB) was born. Through all of this, I made sure that I remained solid in my faith, studied more, prayed more, and God has done some tremendous things in a short amount of time.

CTBB is your go-to for all things Travel and Lifestyle related. I want everyone to know that you don’t have to be rich to enjoy life or the fruits of your labor! The goal is to increase how often we travel + explore, keep you up to date on what’s happening, and share my journey along the way! You’ll find inspiration through words and music + a way you can join me on my explorations!

CTBB might be a baby still, but the support I’ve received has made my heart explode. I’m working on some fun things coming up and I’ll be sharing more soon!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road here has been challenging yet rewarding! Cliche’ I know, but so so true!

You have small things such as: not necessarily knowing where to begin, being concerned with validation from other people, followers, websites, content, etc.

The biggest for me was finding myself and learning more about myself in process. I can truly say I’m not the same person I was at the start of the year, change is scary but this is a change that I needed! I’m much stronger, I think differently, I care less about what others think and more about who I help.

There will always be challenges but I’ll always keep my glass half full versus empty!

Please tell us about Champagne Taste With A Beer Budget (CTBB).
Founded in 2019, CTBB is the go-to for all things travel and lifestyle related. The goal, through organic post and honest experiences, is to increase who travels, where they travel and changing the mindset that luxury can’t be afforded to everyone! As a wanderlust millennial who’s always looking for the next adventure and must have items – big or small – I found this as my outlet and way to share!

On the lifestyle side of things, I’m personally known for knowing where to go, who has the best food/drinks, bringing people to church with me, the music/playlist I’m listening too and my quotes! On the travel side of things, I’m known for getting the cheapest plane tickets, budgeting well for upcoming vacations, making fun experiences out of staycations, road trips, US and International Trips – and I’m always asked how and where to begin. CTBB is going to uncover it all!

What sets me apart from others and makes me the proudest is the faith side of things for me. I know that you can go anywhere and find all the details you need regarding lifestyle and travel, but I want people to walk away feeling empowered in some way, in addition to getting what they came for, – through music, quotes, or a summary of Sunday’s message!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is all the family vacations we had!

I remember traveling to Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida with my family and having the most fun! I love to look at pictures and see the outfits I was dressed in (a true el-oh-el moment!), the places we went – the pure innocence of it all! Adulting makes me miss it even more, phew!
