Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Walton.
Brandy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey began unknowingly as a young girl who loved to comb my dolls hair. This manifested into entering cosmetology at Skyline High School. As a senior in high school, I worked at Regis Hairstylist in Redbird Mall. All of my adult life has been hair. Along with hair, now I’ve gone into the ownership of my salon. My husband/partner believed in me so much that he decided we would buy a building versus leasing. We’ve decided to create wealth.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve always educated myself on my craft. I’ve sustained in this industry for over 23years. Adding the business portion hasn’t been so easy but well worth it. In owning your own property comes many obstacles. The work before even starting, business plans, capital, construction, you name it. However, it teaches you how to STAND FOR WHAT YOU WANT!

Studio Bw Salon literally embodies “Beauty Within.” We have numerous talents that serve people to beauty. We have barbers, stylists. an esthetician, lash technicians. I myself love it all! I don’t like to get bored so serving a variety of clients ignites me! I’m most proud that our salon family truly is a family! We work, learn and pray together.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was actually an old kid. I had great times but I was most comfortable doing me. I grew up with a great group of friends & family. Dolls were my love of life. Not much sportswise for me. I was more of a creative child. I’d draw paper dolls and then dress them. I was a pretty cool kid!
