Meet Leslie Gail Marical of Leslie Gail of Briggs Freeman Sothebys International Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Gail Marical.

Leslie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My first foray in the real estate business was as concierge at two luxury high rises, the Grand Treviso of Las Colinas and the Azure in the Harwood District of Dallas. I became enamored with the grandeur but at the same time, the convenience of having many amenities close at hand. I loved helping the owners and getting to know the buildings.

At the point where I needed to expand my experience, an opening came up in lease management and I went from leasing agent to management in six months. When I managed my own property, I truly thought I was set for life. But then the Commercial sector beckoned, and I made the switch never knowing the experience would lead to a career as a real estate agent.

Has it been a smooth road?
I leased apartments and rentals as I built my network. This journey has been one of the most exhilarating but at the same time the hardest. Working for commission is very challenging and building a solid network takes a lot of time. Being successful requires long hours and due diligence, and the frustration can make you want to quit. I came close, but my aunt encouraged me to stay feeling I had the needed assertiveness this occupation requires. You must stay the course and keep that end game in sight when referrals will come easier and more often. I am thankful I did as being a Realtor is who I am. It’s magical and I have found my place in the world.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Leslie Gail of Briggs Freeman Sothebys International Realty story. Tell us more about the business.
Working with buyers is rewarding because it allows me to make lasting friendships. If it is their first home, I feel I am making a difference in their lives as I guide them through the process. I live and specialize in the Dallas area, where I was born, and also East Texas where I grew up. I have gotten many buyer referrals, as I take as much time as necessary finding their perfect home. Those new to the area appreciate my knowledge of DFW and the surrounding communities. Providing excellent service is my ultimate goal.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Real Estate is always changing, but I don’t think the newest fad will ever replace the hands-on and personalized touch of an experienced and caring realtor. Real Estate is a relationship business with a lot of moving parts and no discounted brokerage will take that away.
