Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherrelle Johnson.
Cherrelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2015, I started doing events that catered towards people who have lost their families, homes, and money, which resulted in them living on the streets of Dallas. This leads me to start my own outreach program, U.Nique Dreamz. After doing these events for some time, my name was circling around the community fast, which led me on my very 1st radio show EVER! This interview was with a group called Black Market, I was beyond nervous, but as I settled in for the questions I knew where coming, I began to relax and open up about my mission! During the interview, I realized, this is it, I wanted more of this, the conversation back and forth about one of my passions and the ability to be able to voice that was intoxicating, I knew I had found my nitch! Mike Mitch is an apart of the group called Black Market that had interviewed me, he asked me if I could go on a few more interviews, that’s where I got my confirmation, everyone said I had a voice for radio, so I said what the heck, and I went for it!
In 2017, I became more serious about the whole radio personality journey, and became an intern on a show called “Inspirational Diva” on the DFWiGospel.com for over two years! I waited patiently for my time to strike out on my own until then, I needed to learn the in and outs of the station and how the business of radio works.
Finally, the time had come! May 2018 I started and starred in my very own show on dfwiradio.com, called “The Just Relle Show”! This was a very busy, hardly any sleep, but very exciting time of my life! I met so many wonderful people in my first year on air from, Artist to actresses, DJs, and models, and so many more, It’s hard to keep up sometimes. I worked harder than I ever have before, to the point my show reached the top five among all the shows on DfwiRadio.com! Plus I have started new adventures while building my show, I have had the opportunity to explore my other talents thru the groups of people I’ve networked with over the year that lead me to act, hosting, becoming a brand ambassador, modeling and even building my own brand!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a good ride although like anything else there were a lot of hurdles, I was very nervous and a lot of self-doubts.
Please tell us about what you do.
I’m an entrepreneur and a radio host first and foremost which opened up doors for me to be a model with a few publications under my name, I also landed a few roles as an actress and I have built my own brand called Just Relle. I’m very popular with my radio show and my homeless outreach. I’m very proud because I’ve accomplished so much within a years time and I was the new kid on the block… what sets me apart is my personality and my love and passion for peoples well being and happiness and I never give up. My Ultimate goal is to build relationships and inspire the world while remaining humble and true to myself.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would definitely write out a plan and set goals for myself, Also become more financial stable I was unaware of how much money comes out before going in,
