Meet Brandon Church of TRT Community in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Church.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Thank you for the opportunity to tell my story! So when I turned 29, it was like someone flipped the light switch on my energy, focus, and ambition. I felt physically and mentally exhausted and was taking a nap after work every day. I did some research and decided that it could be “low T” – so I sought medical treatment and was told that my “beard is too thick to have low testosterone.”

I convinced my doctor to run some lab work anyway, but he came back and told me my testosterone levels were “normal” and there was nothing he could do for me. I requested a copy of my lab work and my total testosterone levels were in the mid 300s. The reference range was 250-950, but there were no age markers present. So basically I realized that whether I was 19 or 90 it didn’t matter, I was “normal.”

I turned to social media for answers- looking for a support group for men considering testosterone replacement therapy and found nothing. So, I started a Facebook group. It grew slowly at first and I can remember how exciting it was with every new member. After three years, I think we had around 1,500 members. By the end of 2017, we were up to 3,000 and that’s when I realized we could do some really good. Guys started sharing their experiences with particular doctors and soon we had a decent doctor network set up.

In late 2017, doctors began reaching out to me asking to promote their practices and I began networking with them. By July 2018, we were referring approximately 150 patients per month. I was talking to MDs on the phone and recommending them to my group members. I knew this was something special when I realized I was able to negotiate treatment prices for my group members. Fast forward to 2019 and we’re now the largest social media support group in America (and possibly the world) for men seeking answers on “all things testosterone.”

We work with physicians across the country to ensure that our members get top notch treatment at affordable prices and continue to educate men and women every day on what to look for, what to expect, and what to avoid.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Our biggest struggle is that the medical field considers “normal” testosterone levels anything between 250 and 950nanograms per deciliter for ages 19+.

Most people know that testosterone declines with age – but the medical industry is behind the times. According to the antiquated best practices that many doctors use, my grandfather and I could have identical testosterone levels and that would be normal.

In addition to that, we fight the “steroid” stigma every day. I relate to the 30-40 something-year-old father that struggles to maintain his competitive edge in the workplace and raise a family while struggling with declining energy levels, but the overall perception of the industry is that it is primarily guys that want to make “gains” in the gym.

Please tell us about TRT Community – what should we know?
We provide education and resources to men and women that believe they made need hormone replacement therapy. A typical user would find us because they have concerns about their hormone levels. From there, they can ask questions privately, have the support of tens of thousands of members that can relate to them personally, find the direct and accurate answers they cannot find anywhere else, and locate a doctor that we’ve vetted and know will handle the patient’s care properly.

We’re able to offer all of this free of charge. Of course, once they seek treatment, they’ll pay the physician, but the members pay us nothing.

There are several things that set us apart from others. We do not charge members for access to our content, we offer a friendly environment, we are the industry leader in terms of research and membership size, and we have launched the “All Things Testosterone” podcast where we interview researchers, physicians, and peers to discuss, well, all things related to testosterone. Whether you’re a book nerd, a researcher, a podcast listener, a social media butterfly – we provide educational and supportive content that fits your lifestyle.

We’re definitely most proud of helping tens of thousands find the answers they’re looking for and physicians they can trust.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Passion. Because I can remember vividly how big a decision starting TRT was for me personally, I’m able to maintain the passion for our members and that keeps things authentic. I am able to speak openly and honestly about my experiences and that keeps me and our members engaged.
