Today we’d like to introduce you to Butch Cappel.
Butch, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up watching Rin Tin Tin on TV and always knew that was the kind of relationship, and the kind of dog I wanted to live with. At one time, I had a dozen or so strays living in my back yard, in a camping tent we had, and my mother was wondering why I was always going outside to eat supper, then coming back for seconds and thirds. Then she discovered all the dogs coming around the tent at night for a meal!
I was maybe in the first grade, and I just never quit doing dogs, (though my Mother did quit cooking extra for me).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always economic problems in any business, get over it! But are they struggles? I’m doing what I love how can that be anything but a JOY? No struggles here, just happy dogs.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Cappel Canine – what should we know?
For a lifetime I have done Dog. I have provided K9 Security teams for Presidents and dignitaries, and helped Anna New Pet Owner housebreak Fido or Fidette.
My dogs have stopped prison riots, and saved Domestic Violence victims from possible death. I have done everything I think Rin Tin Tin did in the movies, in real life. I just don’t know what else I could ask for.
I do know that every time I return a well-trained dog to a first time owner, whenever I bring a domestic violence victim a specifically trained security dog, if a family concerned about their safety gets an, early warning, butt kicking, Western Shepherd, or other trained dog from me. I know that I have returned the favor of a lifetime of doing what I love to the dogs that gave me that opportunity, and there are a bunch of safe people that feel the same way about their dog.
