Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, it all started after I had my son. I wanted to help provide for my family and be there for him for all those special moments in life. And there are very few careers that allow people to create their own schedules and be able to have time off.
In high school, I attended a cosmetology program and completed the hours. And after completing the hours I’ve never seen my self doing that for other people. I could do it on myself but I wouldn’t want to turn anyone’s hair green or make-up two shades darker than their actual skin tone. After a bad experience on getting what I thought was “eyelash extensions”, it was actually “clusters” or also known as “tabs”. (please don’t put yourself through that pain lol) I thought to myself why don’t I start doing eyelash extensions? When I got eyelash extensions for the first time (the correct way), they made me feel so nice and awake! Plus, it made my mornings so much easier and I loved that! So, I started doing my research and I enrolled to get my eyelash extension specialty license at Learn Lash Repeat. I’m so thankful for all the support I get from my husband, my family, friends, and my instructors from the school I attended! It was so hard leaving my son during my time in school, but it was worth it in the end. Now, I’m doing something I absolutely love and being able to provide for my little family. I feel like I haven’t really missed out on anything with my son and I love that.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth at all!
I remember when I first started, I was thinking “what the heck did I get myself into?” and “I’m never going to get any clients.”
I’m not going to lie it was hard. Some weeks, I only had 1 client and some I had none. But I continued to keep putting my self out there and worked really hard to perfect my craft by going to workshops almost every month at the Lash Exchange in Carrolton.
And fast forward to one year later, I’m now opening up my own studio! I’m forever thankful for my mom for her continuous support. She gave me a space to lash in her salon while I built up my clientele. And I’m also thankful for all my beautiful clients! Thank you for trusting me to be your lash artist.
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
I’m a licensed eyelash extension specialist. I specialize in lash lifts, classics, and hybrid extensions. I’m known for working with eyelashes and helping morning routines become shorter. I like to educate my clients on how to continue to care for their extensions after they leave my studio. Setting apart from others? I have one to one contact with clients. I have a chance of building a special bond with my clients and the ability to enhance their beauty even more!
I’m proud of my company because it exists. It exists because I did something brave and chose to follow an idea and just went for it! You get exactly what you put in. The harder you work, the bigger the reward.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is spending Christmas Eve with my whole family. I have a huge family so it was always so fun getting together to open gifts in my grandma’s living room with all my cousins and eating some delicious food!
