Today we’d like to introduce you to Brent Carmichael.
Brent, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born in Illinois, played four sports in high school. Went to University of Northern Iowa to play basketball. After college, played professional basketball for 4 years (USA AND OVERSEAS).
Life after basketball was working for the Mayor in Rockford Illinois. In 1991, I obtained custody of my son. In 1997, my son was diagnosed with Autism. Over the years I facilitated workshops on violence prevention and gangs.
I moved to Texas in 2010, and started FOUR U Academy.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The drug goes along the way was trying to find resources for my autistic son. Not many schools have knowledge about educational strategies for kids on the spectrum.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Four U Academy – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We want to help lower the areas of families. We provide information and resources for individuals, families and communities in four areas:
1.Autism Resources
2. Social Awareness
3. Sports Instruction (disabled and non- disabled)
4. Fundraising
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We would like to provide a sports entertainment center for the special needs population.
Also, we want to help in providing housing for special needs adults.
