Meet Kevin Caldwell of Project Me Coaching in Downtown Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Caldwell.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Transition, Purpose, Passion, and Pedigree are the reasons I started my coaching practice. My coaching practice focuses on developing the best life strategies through performance, capacity, and growth.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been ebbs and flows and a few unpaid clients along the way. I wouldn’t change any of the processes as it has been a great experience. A few struggles have taught me the difference between working on your business versus working in your business. I have learned that success includes failure & resistance. As well as understanding that everyone has a story and the story we tell ourselves impacts what we believe we can achieve in our lifetime.

Please tell us about your work.
I have had the privilege of speaking to a total of 250,000+ people worldwide. The goal I have for every audience I have presented in front of was to coach them to break through barriers that had been holding them back from achieving their goals and realizing their truest powers and potential.

Some of my clientele includes entrepreneurs, banks, mortgage companies, non-profit organizations, corporate executives, small business owners, media companies, judges, pro athletes, actors, attorneys, sports agents, certified coaches and many more. As a speaker, trainer or coach, I focus on organizational/individual behavior, high performance, leadership, strategy, and entrepreneurship best practices.

My experience includes 21 years in the Banking and Mortgage industry in various roles with government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) like Fannie Mae, and Fortune 500 companies such as Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and a few more. Additionally, I have 20+ years of ministry experience including several years as a Youth Pastor to over 1500 youth at The Potter’s House in Dallas, TX [T.D. Jakes] where I was ranked 7th among the Nations Top 20 Youth Leaders in America.

After becoming a graduate of the Devos Urban Leadership Initiative, and a founding partner of the John Maxwell Team as an independent speaker, coach, and trainer, I started Project Me Coaching, a self-development practice and a high-performance consultancy for entrepreneurs, organizations, individuals, and teams that want to increase personal performance, employee performance, personal crisis managementmotivation, engagement, and retention. Additionally, Project Me assists individuals and organizations on their journey to reaching their truest potential, revealing the best that they are.

My philosophy is that success is not measured by the positions you have reached in life, but what mental obstacles you overcame to reach your desired goal. Using this philosophy has helped me write a number of books that are available on amazon.com. For more information on the books I have written, visit www.thekevincaldwell.com. I am currently writing my first short film and attending Harvard Business School. I am committed to helping individuals and organizations increase their personal velocity—which I define as their ability to get where they want to go faster, safer, and happier. My passion for excellence and innovative approach to life has garnered many rewarding experiences, but my most passionate pursuit is to be the best father I can be to my amazing gift from God, my fabulous daughter, Imani. She will be the POTUS one day in the future.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My most favorite childhood memories happened when I was seven years old. On my 7th birthday, I got my first bicycle with training wheels! And in my 2nd-grade class, students were given an opportunity to write an essay about why their teacher should be the teacher of the year. The best essay selected from the 2nd-grade student was how that teacher won the Teach of the Year award. It was my teacher that won the award because of my essay! This was the first time I had to speak in front of an audience of students and the PTA. This is a great memory for me because this is when my gift to write and speak was revealed at seven years old.
