Meet Taylor Weaver of Beachbody in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Weaver.

Taylor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I feel like I categorize my story in two parts: before I had my daughter and after my daughter was born. Becoming a mom really changed so much about me. It increased my anxiety level to daily panic attacks, I became extremely depressed and felt like I didn’t even know myself anymore. I really struggled the first year of my daughter’s life. I was the first of all of my friends to have a baby and didn’t have many people to talk to about the challenges that came with being a parent. I didn’t understand how the happiest days of my life had turned to the darkest. For me, motherhood came with 60 pounds that I couldn’t lose and eventually a diagnosis of postpartum depression. It was the loneliest and most challenging time of my life, and I knew that in order for it to get better I had to make a change.

I started with seeing a therapist every other week. This helped my anxiety and depression immensely. My therapist was the first person to reveal to me that many women feel other things besides joy when becoming a mom, and it is not uncommon to struggle.

I also spent the year hopping between different gyms and programs trying to lose my baby weight. However, between having a newborn and a full-time job, I was never able to find a workout program that I could be consistent with and be with my beautiful daughter. This killed my self-confidence and the belief that I had that I could do both. Right when I was about to give up, I remembered a company that I asked about years ago. I messaged my friend about it that night, and the rest is history!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. Nothing about this has been smooth. It is challenging to commit to a new lifestyle and stick with it. Regardless of how great my support system is…at the end of the day I have to be the one who wakes up each morning and put in the work. This is hard for me at times, because I sometimes doubt myself and how capable I am. However, I joined this lifestyle to become mentally and physically stronger. This strength doesn’t happen overnight. It grows as you say yes to yourself each day, show up to the workouts, and have faith that what you are doing will help you be successful in the future. As a naturally anxious person, I am almost always scared. However, I have learned to do it scared and embrace my fear.

Beachbody – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from others?
I work as a Beachbody Coach. I honestly feel like I have the best job on the planet. My first job is to focus on myself and make sure that I am growing my mind, body, and soul each day. My second job is to give others the tools they need to do the same! I am proud to be part of this community because they promote a healthy lifestyle. It is not a quick fix and it is not a number on a scale. It is about YOU working hard to become the very best version of yourself every single day. I like to empower women and mothers alike to challenge themselves and watch themselves soar. I want to inspire them and let them know that they have permission to take care of themselves and grow. Women are capable of so much more than we are given credit for, and I want to give others the tools to dig deep into that and find the strength to make it happen.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
First off, I am proud of how far I have come the past year. This time last year I was barely able to get out of bed due to depression, and as of today I am about to complete my very first eighty-day workout program.

More importantly, I am proud of the women in my community who are crushing their goals, and encouraging/empowering others to do the same. I feel like women have earned a bad rep for how we tend to put each other down to make ourselves look better. However, I know my team is trying to change that. The amount of love, support, encouragement, and devotion that these women display each day is inspiring. I am so proud that I can call these women my tribe.
