Meet Tamika Smith with Texas Ally Real Estate in Northeast Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Smith.

Tamika, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The desire to help people own their own homes probed me to become a realtor. The excitement of knowing that I am able to encourage families to own something that their children can inherit has given me great satisfaction. Outside of me fulfilling my natural desire to encourage others, real estate has provided limitless earning potential while balancing being a mother and a full-time student.

In general, real estate has created the pathway for me to build a solid foundation, increase my finances and create a legacy for my family in the future.

As I progress in my own career, the most important advice I have received was to be patient and that there is no elevator to success. “You have to take the stairs. There is always a process and nothing will happen overnight but genuineness and hard work rarely goes unnoticed. I was also encouraged to find my niche and perfect it meticulously. I also had a spiritual mentor who invested in the growth of my spiritual health. This in turn has helped give me the guidance and wisdom for decision making and improved my accountability.

I am currently in school to obtain my bachelors in business management. Once I receive my bachelors, I would like to start testing to become a licensed broker in Texas. I am also attending continuing education classes regularly through Metrotex and my current broker. This summer, I registered for courses to become a licensed agent in California. I am also planning to become licensed in Atlanta in the near future.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many obstacles involved my decision to become a real estate agent. I have had to make many sacrifices financially, physically and time-wise. I knew that in order to be considered an expert at something, you have to be willing to invest time to perfect your niche. During the journey, the failures have been just as important as the success. Real Estate can be very unpredictable and it takes someone with “heart” to endure the ups and downs. My main conflict was being able to train myself to remain resilient and rooted even when the odds were against me and deals seemed impossible.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in residential and commercial transactions. I have worked mainly with first time home buyers and investors. I am passionate and a market savvy professional who sees client satisfaction as a top priority.
