Today we’d like to introduce you to Cole Campbell and Raul Martinez.
Cole and Raul, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We met on a whim while walking the Katy Trail- and quickly became best friends, sharing a passion for plants and design, which in turn led us to becoming partners. Cole was working as a visual merchandiser, designing floor pads for stores, while Raul was a student for interior design and Audio Engineering. Neither of us planned to be where we are today, running an “all-you-could-need” business for everything landscape. From selling plants, designing gardens, and building custom planter boxes, to mowing lawns, pruning shrubs, installing plants, and battling insects and disease, we pride ourselves on doing it all, whatever you need. Our goal is to eventually have fields of flowers and a large Arboretum-style garden where customers can visit and learn about nature. We hope to be able to provide local grown, organic bouquets of flowers in the future, with a team of knowledgeable associates to help us run the lawn care and landscape aspect of our business. Until then, we continue to serve all of Dallas and the surrounding areas.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The hardest part has been juggling our responsibilities. It’s just the two of us right now, and between caring for our own massive garden, school, jobs, family, and trying to start so many different aspects of our business at the same time, we have both struggled. Cole eventually left his full-time job to give the business his full attention, and Raul moved into part-time employment as a business assistant so he would have more free time as well.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with One Love Rose and Gardens – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a “do-it-all” type landscape company. We are set apart from others for our genuine passion in doing what we do, and our ability to provide all aspects of garden care. We are proud of our work, as we put all our time and effort into creating beautiful gardens and landscapes, and we genuinely care about helping our customers come to love the outside of their homes as much as they love the inside. We are also well-known for our love of roses, as our name suggests, and we boast an extensive knowledge of these wonderful plants.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We hope to open our gardens in the spring, in a style similar to Texas Tulips, with fields of spring flowers that you can cut and take home in a build your own bouquet style, along with beautiful settings to take photos and host events. As we said before, we of course will continue taking care of landscapes and gardens for customers. We also hope to be able to open a proper nursery soon, complete with beautiful inspiration gardens and a huge selection of roses, including rare and hard to find varieties.
