Meet Dasjaevian Dixon of Networking With Purpose in Downtown Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dasjaevian Dixon.

Dasjaevian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey started during college. I started joining different organizations at the University of North Texas as a freshman and placed myself in positions to learn more about the executive side of running an organization. From that point, I started building my network and brand without even realizing it. I was also helping other leaders build theirs as well throughout the process.

I made sure that I was strategic regarding who and what I gave my time to. The goals that I set for myself pushed me to make sure that I capitalized on opportunities that were placed in front of me. The more I connected with like-minded people on and off-campus, the deeper my passion grew to eventually launch my own brand.

Social media, networking on campus, and volunteering helped me build genuine relationships. These relationships weren’t just with other students. They were with UNT faculty, staff, and other professionals in the DFW Metroplex. I knew that I had to deliver value to others if I wanted to stand out as an upcoming business professional. Therefore, I took the initiative to set up consultations, create my own events, and speak at different networking engagements that I attended.

My network took off quickly after I posted my life story on LinkedIn in January of 2017. The article reached over 7 million views and I started receiving a significant amount of business inquiries from highly motivated leaders all across the world. It was then that I knew I wanted to dive deeper into the art and science of networking.

This jumpstart to my network inspired me to read more books, seek more knowledge, and create more opportunities. In September of 2018, I launched my own brand as a Marketing & Branding Consultant. The goal is to continue to stand firm on my mission and vision in effort to inspire 1 million people globally.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road at all. However, the struggles that I have faced have only been minor. A few of the struggles that I have faced are financial challenges and overbooking myself from time to time.

With many financial obligations, it can be a challenge to invest in my brand as often as I would like to. There have also been events that I have wanted to attend but didn’t have the necessary funds at the time to do so. However, these hurdles only motivate me to budget my finances more effectively and create different streams of income to be able to attend events in the near future and pour into my brand as much as I want.

On the other hand, it can be a struggle sometimes to manage a busy schedule throughout the week. There are times when I overbook myself for meetings, business calls, or events. It doesn’t happen often. But, it can become overwhelming. Adjusting my calendar on a daily basis has helped me avoid overbooking. I have also learned that saying “no” or “not right now” is the best response sometimes.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Networking With Purpose story. Tell us more about it.
I connect people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities. My objective is to develop marketing strategies and campaigns through social and digital marketing platforms for clients. I also formulate different tactics for brand development and growth.

My areas of expertise are social media marketing, fitness, motivational speaking, and philanthropy.

I am known for being a strong networker, connector, and rising business leader.

I am most proud of the growth of my brand and network.

My ability to network in unfamiliar environments and my work ethic sets me apart from others.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I wouldn’t say luck has played much of a role in my life and business. Most of my endeavors and goals that I’ve accomplished have been due to my work ethic.
