Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenniffer Navarro and Kimberly Harris.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jenniffer and Kimberly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started because of two working moms Jenniffer and Kimberly. Working eight hours a day, wishing, they could spend more time with their children. Our kiddos spend almost 8 hours at a daycare; where they were entertained almost every minute of the day. As moms, we felt the need to bridge the gap at home, and bond with our children because we missed many moments while away.
So, here we are. Off WE GO in this adventure, with a very clear mission in mind: To help other moms. Enhance their lives and the lives of their children by connecting them with mommy and me activities to do around the city. Activities that will strengthen the parent/child bond.
By partnering with our community, we promote mom/dad empowerment. Not only for us but for all of those moms and dads with the same vision in mind. When you become part of our group you will find support, resources, and a strong network with a judgment-free zone. Most importantly, no clique -like behaviors! We strive to get our moms and dads out of their comfort zone to try different activities. These activities will help us raise strong, caring, confident and social-emotional competent children!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not a smooth road. Juggling work, motherhood, and being a wife can be hard at times. However, when you are passionate about your goals, you work hard and commit yourself to see your vision become a reality. Our advice to young women starting their journey is to empower themselves. It is easy to continue and push-thru when others are empowering you, and supporting you; but when the last two are not present, you MUST empower yourself to succeed. If you do not trust your instinct or your goals then nothing will be accomplished.
Please tell us about Dallas Yummy Mommies – what should we know?
As an organization, we are proud of building relationships with other moms, community, and most importantly we are proud to be a resource.
What sets us apart from other mom’s group, and the reason why we called the Dallas Yummy Mommies the “next generation of mom’s groups” is because we strive to commit to our motto “moms helping moms”. Not only by providing events and connecting them with the community, but most importantly, connecting our moms with one another. We create a network in which you can find mom-entrepreneurs and support them. Where you can find a mom-run- business and support it, where you can be YOU and find a friend. As always, dads are welcome too!
Which women have inspired you in your life?
We have been inspired by the strong women in our families. Our mothers, our grandmothers, sister, aunts – you name it! Every one of them have impacted our growth and path. Their strong minds have helped shaped ours. Their sacrifices, commitments, morals, and values is what makes us who WE are today.
