Today we’d like to introduce you to Theron and Ashley Snelson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Theron and Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For several years, we were on a journey to locate an education option for our children that focused on developing the “whole” child. After research, we discovered the best option was to independently educate them within a homeschool environment. During our journey, we began noticing the amazing growth in our children and how they viewed the world around them!
The desire to develop an educational program that focuses on true growth within the leaders of tomorrow has been in our hearts and a passion for years. Our founders, Theron Snelson Jr. & Ashley Snelson are graduates of the prestigious University of Missouri – Kansas City, both holding degrees in Psychology with an emphasis in child development. Ashley is also a successful business leader in Financial Services, where she specializes in providing financial education and developing strategic game-plans for families. Theron has also been a classroom facilitator for over 10 years.
While speaking with other parents we came to realize the thirst others have for a change in how we approach education. Through prayer and preparation, Leadership Factory Academy went from a “conversation in the living room” to an amazing program designed to build true World Changers in our communities!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have definitely faced similar opportunities as other business leaders along the way. We believe that although we hit various walls in the process – true success comes from the speed in which we can break down those walls and move into our God-given calling.
Please tell us about Leadership Factory Academy – what should we know?
Leadership Factory Academy is a private Christian leadership based micro-school. A micro-school is defined as a program that is the reinvention of the one-room schoolhouse, where class size is typically smaller than that in most schools (15 students or less in a classroom) and there are mixed-age level groupings. We have a harmonious blend between private and homeschool. We are known for our focus in developing the “whole” child – we want to ensure that the students enrolled in our program are becoming a master in their learning experience, through hard work, perseverance and grit. Our school is developed around our core values which is a unique edge that separates us from a traditional education model. Our core values include; honor, love, honesty, grit, excellence & generosity. The goal is to operate within those core values within our learning environment as well as out in our various communities. We strive to assist in building children because we believe that when we build strong, confident youth we are truly building our future world changers.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Faith, love, grit and the unending passion we have in developing our future generations. We give all glory to God who we know has been the cornerstone of our success.
