Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Buster.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeff. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Fifteen years ago, I was still a full time touring drummer and I found out I was going to be a daddy. I was barely able to make rent and knew I needed to make a change FAST to be able to take care of a little girl. I took a job with a retail electronics company, then an outside sales job with a radiator company. I did well there and moved to the manager position (while still touring) and in 2008 decided to stop playing out and double down on business. I took a job with a global Giant MRO company and worked my way up from the bottom again in outside sales. I built three different territories before getting a “promotion” to head up a new division. I did that for another few years. The problem was this company operated with very little integrity. I was not willing to do the things they asked of me when I knew it was bad or wrong for the customer.
Eventually, we parted ways, and Buster’s Industrial was born. Our model is simple, take care of the customer, treat people as you want to be treated, and the rest will fall in line. Since 2015 we continue to experience extremely high growth through referrals, word of mouth, and strategic partnerships. We love what we do, we love our customers, and we welcome the challenges we get to solve for our customers on a daily basis. We certainly look forward to what the future holds!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been smooth at all. I have had to start over repeatedly creating new territories (customer bases) while also being a single Daddy for over five years. It wasn’t easy but well worth it!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Buster’s Industrial – what should we know?
We do industrial supplies and vendor managed inventory. We also offer custom fabrication and installation in many cases. There are a lot of “supply companies” out there but we are the only one I know of that can not only offer products + service + consultation + fabrication. We LISTEN to find out what our customers need and do whatever we can to meet that need.
