Today we’d like to introduce you to Dimitri Demps.
Dimitri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story is simple, I am a mother of two, a grandmother of two and an aunt to 32. I was a licensed cosmetologist for 25 years. I transitioned to becoming a childcare center owner by trusting in having faith that God would lead me thru this next journey in my life. My heart is always on my shoulders and dealing with children that’s where it should be. Faith Academy was established in 2016, I chose that name because every day I wake, I have faith that God will get me thru. I received my Director credentials in 2017 which was one of my greatest accomplishments. This allowed me to take charge and run my own center. I knew when I received my license as a director, faith was the perfect name. We have plans for expansion in this 2019-2020 year. I wake every morning wondering what difference I can make in my children and parents life for that day and that inspires me to want to go as far as I can in this industry. There are a lot of great centers in my city and I plan on being one of the best.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I guess you can say it has been a smooth ride getting open thru the state, but we are new, still establishing our name in a field that is filled with years of experienced centers enrollment is up and down. But that comes as part of this industry.
Please tell us about Faith Academy Learning Center – what should we know?
Faith Academy is a licensed childcare and learning center. We offer Curriculum for our toddlers and Pre/k students ensuring that they will be on there level and beyond when they enter Fort Worth ISD. What makes me the proudest of Faith is my staff they are all hardworking and dedicated to the best care and education of our children. They attend regular classes once or twice a month, eager to learn more ways to educate our kids. What sets us apart is we go over and beyond for our families. It can be school clothes for school, coats in the winter shoes when needed food if you can’t eat at home or a ride to their front door. Faith is dedicated to giving the best service to our community.

My biggest supporter is my guy. He retired in 2016 and ask me what was my dream business. He believed in my dream and inspired me to make my dream come true and I will forever be thankful for him believing in me. My biggest cheerleader is my daughter that works beside me every day always giving me encouragement when it is needed and my family and friends that always are there when needed they all played a part even if was just a word of encouragement
