Meet Tim Oneal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Oneal.

Tim, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
So I began styling straight from hair school with little to no clientele. This was before social media, so business cards and word of mouth were my biggest allies for gaining clients behind the chair. In essence, I built my clientele from scratch. I continued to take classes and hands-on training to better understand and build my skill set. I’ve worked in several salons in DFW and am very happy to have met and built relationships with so many clients and colleagues.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been easy but it is so worth it!!! Finding who I really am as a stylist has taken time. Owning my greatness is also something I’ve not had an easy time with. I get it now though. I am great at what I do. I made conscious and intentional efforts to be so. I’m grateful and ready for all that is happening and all that’s to come.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Tim Oneal is my brand and who I am. My business hands down is hair. My staple salon for work is South Main District Salon which I absolutely love !!! Outside of the salon I do photoshoots and other on-location hair work. The actual styling of hair is the biggest thrill of all that I do. I specialize in haircutting, color, and extensions. I have also begun a new journey of collaborative work and educating other stylists. My diverse range in hair goes from edgy, colorful, editorial, avant-garde work to soft subtle layered or pixie cuts for the professional woman.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Fort Worth is a growing and vibrant market for hairstylists. Knowing how to freely display and market your skills in today’s society is crucial. People want to see what it is that you do. Also, there are great salons here who’s name helps to boost yours. Whether you’re independent or hired staff, your salon selection is very important.
