Today we’d like to introduce you to Liliana Lugo.
Liliana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Drum roll please……Haha! Okay here I go.
My name is Liliana Lugo, but everyone and their momma’s can call me Lilly! (Yes like the flower) Every photographer started differently, Here’s how it happened for me. I’m going to be honest… I had a thing for photography ever since my teenage years and only a few people noticed that about me, One of the few was my husband. Early 2018 BAM! he surprised me a Canon DSLR the rebel T5 to be exact. The journey started the moment I laid hands on it and a couple months after I decided to take things to the next level. Now here I am today, booking sessions and capturing amazing moments, So motivated and full of energy, Grateful with the clients who have allowed me to be a part of wonderful memories, Most of all for trusting me.
I want my kids to look at me one day and be so proud of my accomplishments. I don’t want to be that one mom who was just a ”Mom” and never did anything in her life, Never branded or labeled herself, I want all the women out there to know that no matter how many kids you have, No matter your age or the busy lifestyle… You can still dream big, Yes you can! You can still set Goals. Let go of fear, Life is short… don’t leave this earth full of regrets. Do what you love. Turn your passion into your profession!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, My struggles? Well… I still held a full-time job, I’m a mom/wife. At the same time trying my best and working my hardest to make this photography business dream come true. There was not enough time in a day for me to complete certain tasks and almost every time… I left unfinished work for the following day. Why? I always put my family first… they are my priority. Of course! So I must say that having enough time or making enough time was my struggle along the way.
Please tell us more about your business. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
My little business consists of me, My canon camera and wonderful clients, It’s a Photography business. I specialize in Portraits, Newborns, Seniors and family sessions. I wish I could add weddings and large events but I’m not quite there yet, Unfortunately. I’ll get there someday.
I can see how comfortable my clients are around me, I’m constantly talking to them throughout the entire session. I make sure there’s no awkward “Cricket sound” moments Lol!
Like Alfred Eisenstaed said,
“It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter button”
Families are the most important thing in the world, and I know my clients want portraits the can treasure and hold close to their hearts for the rest of their lives.
I often find myself smiling behind the camera, that tells you how much I love what I do.
I strive to deliver the best in every shot!
What am I most proud of? Myself…..My improvement, I strongly believe I was created to do this, It fits me, my personality my strengths and I have fun while doing it, I went after this full stream, No questions asked. That makes me very proud of myself. What sets me apart from others? I’m known for being consistent to the extreme, I really won’t stop until I get to my target, that’s a known fact!

My supportive husband, I give him a lot of credit… I don’t think I would’ve started this without him. My wonderful children let’s not forget about them. Always rooting for me! HUGE shout out to the amazing Photography artist Rick Davila, I learned so much from him after attending one of his workshops. He’s truly an inspiration.
