Today we’d like to introduce you to Annette Wright.
Annette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first started working in salons when I was 13 with a worker permit. I have loved everything hair for as long as I can remember. When I turned 18, I got my cosmetology license and started working for a high-end day spa and salon which is where I learned the finesse that this whole world had to offer! I still am friends with my mentors back then, and love training and sharing the same techniques I learned with like-minded, eager to learn young hairdressers! Today, I am at the top of my career, and exactly where I wanted to be. As I grow older I find inspiration in many other great hair colorists, cutters and extension specialists and am still eager to learn. I only want the very best for my clients.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have been completely blessed with how quickly and efficiently I turned my passion into a well-paying career. I thank God every day that I get to do what I have passion for every single day!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I do everything from balayage, foilage, teasy lights, baby lights, stretched root, shadow root, cutting, hand-tied and Kacey Welch silk weft extensions, tape-in extensions and even perms! The only thing I don’t want to do is updos. I am mostly known for my balayage ombre, creating ash blonde tones, secondly, I am known for my hair extensions. I am most proud of the fact that I have a wide range of abilities and services to offer my clients. I think what sets me apart from the others is my intuitive nature. I have the ability to dial down on what my client is feeling and thinking to give them the absolute best look for who they are inside and out. My clients have told me before that I have an ability to make him feel amazing not only outside but inside too!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I love working in a suburb in a big city. I don’t have to deal with the drive in the traffic yet my clientele is high end, and low key at the same time! I probably would not recommend someone new starting out at my salon because you have to come in with an already established clientele.
