Meet Artisha Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Artisha Moore.

Artisha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started modeling when I was 4 years old In Detroit, Michigan and became a paid model. My grandmother uses to always dress me up and I would prance and dance around the house all of the time. So she took me to this modeling agency in Detroit and that’s were it all started. Then later, I would model at my great grandparent’s church when we had events and I was always voted best dressed. So the love for modeling became natural. As I got older and we moved to Tulsa, I continued to model off and on.

I’ve modeled for Guess, Vanity, been in Seventeen Magazine, commercials, and music videos. I later got in touch with my cousin in Minnesota, she’s THE Top Model Coach in Minnesota I might add, but she took me under her wing and gave me more and better training in this industry which made me fall in love with this all over again. Then at the beginning of this year, I started working with Mimi Jones and we started our modeling consulting agency called Model Me Please. She is the model manager and I am the model coach. Our company has really taken off and we’re so blessed because it has moved us into a lot of different things and areas.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. There are always ups and downs in this industry. Other models love to compete with other models but, I stay in my lane and I stay grounded and humble. I just wait for my blessings, but in the meantime, I’m going to hit it hard and stay focused.

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
So my business partner and I have a modeling consulting agency called, “Model Me Please”, where we specialize in the real aspects of this industry. We’re different than all of the other agencies because we prepare our models on the modeling lingo, what to expect in this industry, help build confidence, help start and build their portfolio and resumes, the different types of runway walks, fashion, and so much more.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was very active. I ran track, I was a cheerleader, prissy at times but most of the time rough. I was a Tomboy per say. But I always wanted my hair done, I didn’t like looking or dressing like everyone else. I was always thinking outside of the box. I was pretty creative I might say.
