Conversations with the Inspiring Amber Natasha Krisher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Natasha Krisher.

Amber Nathasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in a small town in Texas. I knew at an early age that I desired to work in a business atmosphere and run companies. The opposition I faced was a lack of knowledge of how to get there.

In a steady effort of pursuing my goals, I worked hard and graduated high school early at the age of 16. At 17, I began working as a teller at a local bank. It was during my time there that I decided to pursue a career within the banking industry in Dallas. As a young woman in the industry, I knew that I would have to work twice as hard and twice as long to get ahead. I climbed the corporate ranks within the financial services industry and by 2010 at the age of 24, I was one of the states’ youngest executives in the banking sector.

In 2015, I was approached by a group about working on a promotional video. The acting and modeling industry had always caught my interests but I had never pursued it. After completing the promotional video I was contacted by a local talent agency that wanted to represent me. A year later, I did a commercial for a mayoral candidate and the year after I had the opportunity of starring in a docudrama on the Reelz Network. Along with the acting opportunities, I’ve been given the honor to participate in several modeling shoots.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a very hard road. Being a female in the business world, especially a young and ambitious female it’s sometimes comparable to walking a tightrope. I have encountered situations where I was discounted for my looks, my gender, and my age. I feel like I have had to fight for each accolade and promotion. Having a strong personality has one of my biggest struggles. People either love you or hate you.

My advice for all young women is to be strong and feminine. Being a female leader is a strategic advantage. Make your own path, Don’t try to be like other women you see. People always appreciate authenticity. Be unapologetic in who you are. Also, it’s very important to have good mentors along the way. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance of leaders who were gracious enough to take the time and guide me through pitfalls.

Modeling and acting have taught me to appreciate who I am as a unique person. As women, sometimes we think we have to compete with the girl next to you and that is false. What makes you amazing is the uniqueness in you. Find what that is within you and nurture it.

What should we know about your business? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Well, what sets me apart is my ability to push through adversity. I do not believe in taking “no” for an answer. It is this trait that makes me unique and has helped nurture my other skills.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I grew up with very modest roots with my mother being a primary example of perseverance. My mother is an incredible woman and taught me to push through any circumstance in order to get what I want and need. She taught me to fight and believe in myself and to trust God in all I do. I truly believe that having to work and push for what I want has given me the tools to be successful in any endeavor. I may stumble along the way, but I don’t quit when I believe in something.
