Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Polk.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hannah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was 14 and got serious about having a small business when I was 17. From family photos to family friend’s weddings to friend’s senior pictures, I’ve been so blessed to watch this little hobby grow into more than I could have ever imagined.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being younger than most of the photographers in my area was definitely a struggle, but after gaining the trust of my cliental, it became a lot easier. One of the biggest struggles I am still facing is affording the right gear to stay “relevant” in the ever-changing tech world. Being a full-time student has proved to be a challenge, and having two jobs on top of being a photographer isn’t easy. But, I love photography and creating memories for those who trust me to do so. It’s always worth it in the end!!
Please tell us more about your work.
My goal is to capture memories. I have a warm/moody editing style, but at the end of the day, I want to deliver photos that my clients can look back on and say “wow that was such a good day! She captured our personalities perfectly.” I specialize in natural light portraits and am never afraid to chase a sunset.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Absolutely nothing!! I’ve learned from my mistakes and only moved forward because of them. #noregrets
