George, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Throughout my corporate career, I’ve always maintained some sort of second job, side hustle or business. When I relocated to Dallas, my tenure at the previous job worked against me rather than for me. Finding myself on the other side of the desk and given the various excuses of being overqualified, I decided I was unemployable. That my next venture would serve me by not only fulfilling my income needs but creating a legacy and fulfilling a purpose in society. I haven’t looked back. Being able to help people reclaim their life when battling the IRS, and educating business owners in strategic operations and compliance has been extremely fulfilling.
George Dandridge Jr is an Enrolled Agent, Founder and President of Dandridge Investment Group which parents Elite 8 Tax and Financial Services and Elite Tax Pro Solutions. He’s also a board and founding member of the National Association of Black Tax Professionals and the host of the new online radio show BOSS Talk Radio. George Dandridge is a New Orleans native, military veteran, business executive, seasoned tax professional and entrepreneur. His passions lie in business, community, family and music. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely has not been smooth. New city, new business in a highly unregulated industry, trying to set yourself apart as the professional? Being able to choose who you’ll serve is a privilege in business. At the same time, everything isn’t for everyone. The challenge of establishing one’s self as the clear choice for elite service takes time. That’s not a popular opinion in business but let’s be honest, some car brands deals with challenges interpersonally that luxury automakers are immune to.
