Meet Mike Dutch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Dutch.

Mike, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My musical journey began at a pretty young age although I was always off and on with it since my people had me in sports. Started in a little garage band growing up as a drummer, we weren’t even in middle school yet covering GreenDay and shit like that. Pretty lit when I think back on it. Started back up in high school but never fully indulged into the craft of music until I got back into the studio a few months ago. I have a few other things going like real estate but I love being in the studio coming up with different melodies and showing versatility behind different instruments so I’ve decided music will continue to be apart of my journey through life, voicing how I feel, my highs and lows.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely can say it hasn’t been smooth since everything hasn’t gone exactly my way. Some of my recent struggles haven’t been major just things indie artists and entrepreneurs go through in life but I feel it’s important to be true to yourself and interrogate your actions to better yourself at anything you have going on. Visualizing myself in a happy place in the future helps my drive.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a musician that loves playing and learning new instruments. The feedback that I have gotten shows me my style of music sets me apart by being able to be diverse outside the formula people like to box you into. I also speak on isolation and some of my struggles while adding a little attitude of confidence.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Don’t let one set back define you. whether bankruptcy or just simply getting bad feedback. None of that shit means failure. Always reevaluating my actions, listening to my guys, and taking a break for my mental if I need too.
