Alex, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my mobile spray tanning business back in June after I received a spray tan myself for my wedding. I loved the way I felt after my tan (who doesn’t love a little color?!) When I got back from my honeymoon, I started to look into the business seriously because I love the idea of empowering woman and if a simple spray tan can do that then count me in! Since then, I have really developed a deep love for what I do especially when clients text me and tell me how much they love their tan and how beautiful it makes them feel! There is a lot of pressure on women today to look and dress a certain part and if I can help anyone feel more comfortable in their own skin then why the heck not?!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been the smoothest road! Building your own brand and getting your name out there takes time and can sometimes be frustrating, especially when there are other business out there just like yours! My advice would be to do something that makes you stand out from everyone else, and do not give up when the road gets tough because if it were easy then it would not be worth it. 🙂

I am a mobile spray tanning business! I specialize in giving clients the perfect spray tan! I love the fact that I am able to help my clients feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin! If you have never had a spray tan before, I would definitely recommend it, it is amazing what a little Glo can do to someone’s confidence! I believe my customer service sets me apart. I always follow up with my clients after each tan to make sure they are happy with my service and I am a mobile company so I can come to you, so you get to stay in the comfort of your own home the entire time!
Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
In this type of business networking is an absolute must! If you get any chance to get your name out there, I would take it. Especially because my business is such a “word of mouth” type of business. Persistence has worked well for me, it took some time but I have a nice client base worked up but still continuing and wanting to grow and get my name out there!
