Meet Paul Curry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Curry.

Paul, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in England. I served in the British Army for eight and a half years as a paratrooper, and also worked with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg for five weeks in 1996. Then, after leaving became a police officer and served for 18 years. I have traveled extensively around the US on vacation and on a vacation to Fort Worth met some locals who I became friends with. Through them, I was introduced to a friend of theirs who I eventually married and I became a permanent resident of Fort Worth. Prior to getting into real estate, I worked in security in Sundance Square and at the homes of a prominent Fort Worth family. The long hours and minimal time off caused me to make a career change. I always had a passion for real estate and had some dealings with lease properties in the UK, so I decided to go to school and study real estate to become a REALTOR®. It such a nice change to finally work for myself and be out of uniform.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth. Learning how to work for myself is a new venture and learning how to generate my own work otherwise I don’t get paid. Not being from Fort Worth, I didn’t have the database or sphere of influence that others automatically have through living here their whole lives. I have had to reach out to people myself and make cold calls, which is something I don’t like doing (I don’t like them myself!), but a necessary part of trying to generate business.

We’d love to hear more about your work.

As an individual, my motto is Your REALTOR® Your Friend You’re Home. This really says it all. I’m a friendly guy who will work hard for my clients. I want to form a relationship with my clients and represent them to the very best of my ability with attention to detail. My experience in life has made me into a very determined and professional individual with great communicational skills. This is a valuable trait to serve my clients to the best of my ability and dealing with matters at the negotiation table. Add to that my attention to detail and presentation, you have in me a REALTOR® who will go the extra mile to sell your house at the best price in the quickest time, and to be able to negotiate the best deal for my buyers. I specialize in single-family homes mainly, but I can also do leases, land, and small commercial leasing.

What were you like growing up?
I was kind of a shy kid when I was young but the army knocked that out of me, lol. I always liked going to the gym and my main hobbies were, and still are, reading and listening to music. I don’t go to the gym much these days but my main escape is cigar smoking and riding my Harley Davidson. I took up cigar smoking about ten years ago after a visit to Havana, Cuba and since then, has become a real passion. I have met some great friends and really interesting people from all walks of life just from smoking cigars.
