Meet Paris Aryanna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Aryanna.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Paris. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got my start in music at a very young age. I grew up in a musical home and my mom was my first musical influence. I remember she would play with a live band around town and record R&B music. I began studying piano in 4th grade and fell in love with classical. Moving into high school and college I continued singing, songwriting and picked up some guitar along the way. After graduating college and (trying) to get into the swing of adulthood, I felt like it was time to dive deeper into my artistry. So, I started working on writing and recording my first EP “Color Me Free”, which I released in July. Now, I am playing shows in Austin and working with new writers and producers to create music with and express myself.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I think I hit a snag with music for a while during my early 20s. You know I had this mini-crisis, overthinking everything, comparing myself, and not feeling like I had much to show for my music. I definitely deal with a mix of procrastination and perfectionism if that makes any sense. But inside of me I always knew that music is my passion.

We’d love to hear more about your music.
I am a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist. I love to make R&B with an alternative/modern twist. I draw of jazz elements as well. My music is all based on personal experience, and I believe that being open about my struggles, hopes and fears can help other people not feel so alone.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Dallas is a great city with amazing opportunities for creatives of all kinds. I know some musicians out here that are killing it and I think Texans in this community should collaborate together more. There’s a wellspring of talent that deserves to be seen, and I look forward to expanding my network here.
