Meet Rachel Scruggs of Radiance Events in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Scruggs.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rachel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a child, I always loved celebrating the holidays and special events with my family and friends. I used to plan and host baby showers, birthday parties and graduation parties for my family and friends free of charge because it was a hobby of mine growing up. It wasn’t until my mom told me that she used to create gift baskets called “Rachel’s treasures” when I was young to make extra money on the side. She told me that I had a gift of making people feel special on their day of celebration. It was then I decided to create my own event planning business. I was able to turn my hobby into a money maker and have not looked back ever since. I’m constantly thinking of ways to stay current and always keep money flowing through Radiance Events!

Has it been a smooth road?
No! It was very hard to get clients starting up. My business is still not where I want it to be, but I feel like I am creating a plan to build clientele as well as create products people can use even if they don’t book an event.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Radiance Events story. Tell us more about the business.
Radiance Events is an event planning service that offers strategic event planning and creative delivery of corporate events, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, graduation parties and special events. We bring your vision to life by taking into consideration every detail you want to be part of your special day.

I recently added wall backdrops to my services, so I’m able to be a one-stop-shop for all of my events. Gone are the days of having to rent items from other people. I want clients to come to me knowing that I have all the tools & resources to make their special day amazing!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The event planning industry is always growing! It’s not going anywhere! I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both aren’t in event planning, which makes the industry so great! Anyone with a passion for event planning can pursue that as a career. This industry is solely about skill and what you make of it & I love that.
