Today we’d like to introduce you to Rickey Booker.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rickey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in the nightclub business by owning a gentlemen’s club at first, then transition into Pink Lounge night club, which I think is a gem of the Oakcliff area which the area it’s located soon will be phase 2 of the Bishop Arts District. The Pink Lounge been a wonderful gathering spot for some regulars. I don’t think enough people know or understand the concept of a gem being in your backyard.
Has it been a smooth road?
In the nightclub and bar business, it’s never smooth at first or stays that way. Being in the Oakcliff area instead of uptown is a little bit of a challenge because of location, but once the customer sees the place they love the vibe.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pink Lounge story. Tell us more about the business.
Pink Lounge is Dallas’s newest Party spot! We have great drink specials and some of the best DJs in Dallas.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think when Bishop Arts District comes with phase 2 we will have more of the walk-in clients. These are the resources that make clubs like the Pink Lounge become long-lasting because then, it becomes a neighborhood gem.
