Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Christopher.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Emily. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Back in 2016, I went on my first big trip, to Thailand. I never imagined it was possible to travel to such amazing places without breaking the bank. I was a broke college student but I was able to budget my way through our trip and we had an amazing time! We did snorkel trips, stayed in bungalows and ate delicious food!
Over the years, it’s been my mission to encourage people to travel more and to share my tips and secrets!
I’m also married to the most amazing man and pilot! So, as a pilot’s wife, I have a lot of behind the scenes that I share with my followers too!
It’s my passion to share my travels with the world and I have even created another Instagram dedicated just to flight deals from Austin! It’s been fun to connect with so many passionate travelers on Instagram and I hope to keep growing and providing value to the travel community!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life isn’t always smooth. I have had to learn a lot, deal with unkind people and also learn how to provide more value. I have gained so many skills such as editing, photography, communication, marketing, etc. I’ve had to have lots of patience and learn to take a step back sometimes, re-evaluate and pivot.
My advice for other women would be to learn as much as you can, always be a student and have patience!
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I run two Instagram accounts and a travel blog! My travel account, @lifeofthepilotswife is all about encouraging people to travel more and to provide tips and tricks along the way. I love the community I have created on that page and I am always so excited to share my tips with my followers!
I also run the flight deal account, @flightsfromaustin, which post exclusive flight deals out of Austin, TX. This account is a great resource for Austin-ites and Texans who want to travel more, on a budget! The account has been fun for me to grow. I have also been able to work and highlight a ton of local Austin companies on my page as well. Please go support your local companies!
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
So many! I am inspired by my grandmother’s kindness, the determination from my siblings, I am also inspired by so many great women in history like Ellen, Amelia Earhart, J.K. Rowling and Michelle Obama.
I am fond of women who are empowered, kind, give back and are selfless!
