Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisha Truitt.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Daisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
You know that feeling of dread when you roll over and look at your clock, seeing there are only five minutes left before your alarm goes off? Well, that’s how it felt for me. Day in and day out, making ends meet if that while working for a company that is actively searching for someone to fill your position. Not the best part of waking up, but what can you do? I decided on my 18th birthday, I wanted to be an entrepreneur. How appealing does it sound to wake up everyday, knowing the only money you’re making it for yourself? Like a dream come true. But in reality, it’s a long road that tests your patience, your drive and commitment to this lifestyle.
So I decided I have to start somewhere. That’s when I started researching on the internet, attending webinars for hair extension success, watching YouTube videos uploaded from store owners, and reading endless articles for how to choose the right hair. If I’m going to sell something, I want it to be as quality as possible. After half a year of preparation, I launched She’s So Fine Hair Extensions in February 2019. My website features different styles such as water wave, body wave and straight virgin hair. There are also lace front wigs and frontals. Everyday is a work in progress, and I plan to get better so I can improve my company. I know that with dedication and striving for improvement, I will become a successful entrepreneur.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle I’m working to overcome is maintaining a work/life balance. I want to still be there for my friends and family that support me, but with working a part-time job, going to cosmetology school full time, and running a YouTube channel, it gets a little challenging trying to fit time for them, as well as for myself. However, I know it will all be worth it in the end.
She’s So Fine Hair Extensions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I sell virgin hair bundles, front lace wigs, closures and frontals. I’m currently in cosmetology school to become a successful hairstylist. This gives me control for what styles I can give to my clients who want to have a sew-in, wig or what has them. The hair is 100% virgin and can last 1-2 years with proper maintenance. I wanted a way to give my customers quality hair for an affordable price. I’m so proud that I have the opportunity to have my own website and sell beautiful hair to make others happy and feel their purchase was worth it.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Growing up, I was a reserved kid. We would move to different neighborhoods often, so that made making friends a little difficult. However, I was always happy. You could never see me without a smile on my face. I loved playing with my toys after school, then watching my favorite PBS shows before bed. On weekends, especially summer break, I would watch endless movies, back to back. Overall, I was a happy, curious kid who couldn’t wait to grow up. I feel like my charm stems from my childhood, thus making me an optimistic young adult who sees the magic in everything today.
