Today we’d like to introduce you to Regan Allen.
Regan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been singing, and loving music, for as long as I can remember. As far as leading, I’ve been leading worship for about seven years now. I started out at my home church and then was blessed to help build a team at Connect Church Plano for a few years. My father is the Senior Pastor of Christ Cathedral Church, in Fort Worth. Church has always been a huge part of my life. I knew that I wanted to sing for sure, but I also always knew that my calling went far beyond the music. I’ve been blessed enough to have an amazing family and support system. They’ve helped push me towards purpose, answer my questions, love me through the navigation, and never believed in limitations. There have been a lot of lessons learned throughout my life so far, but one of the keys to where I am now, was being taught that my life and mission is all uniquely powered by God. The greatest lesson I’ve held on to has been that there are no limits and that my call will always be enough.
I am now back serving at my home church and evolving in every way that God is allowing. From writing music, to getting ready to release music, to growing in other leadership areas, to newly launching a faith-based clothing line, I am completely committed to new ways that God wants to use me. He is constantly revealing new pieces of my purpose and the continuation of my individual story.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By no means has it always been a smooth road. I’ve been blessed enough to have people willing to protect me as much as possible and who were intentional about making sure that I never walked, jogged, or even crawled at times, alone. From losing my mother at an early age, to dealing with insecurities when it came to my voice and growth, to other personal and private struggles, my journey has been filled with moments of preparation and patience. While I believe that I am still learning from things that I have been through, I also believe that every rocky road was worth traveling and fighting through.
Learning to not expect perfection, and learning to love myself: 1. the way that God does and 2. The way that I so easily and intentionally give love, has been a major silver lining in my growing process here recently. The most valuable moments that I have had in God’s presence have been from bare, vulnerable places where I had to pick my broken pieces up, and was met in darkness. I believe that a completely smooth road wouldn’t have done me any good, and I am grateful that I never gave up. Instead of finding a different path, a more comfortable path, I chose to accept the battle wounds and bruised heels that came with my journey. Taking the path designed for me has proven to be the best decision.
Being honest about the sacrifices that I have committed to making; throwing myself into service, and doing the work from the inside out first, have all been essential to continuing down the road that I believe my soul was meant to take.
Please tell us about 7 missiles – what should we know?
Aside from music, I have also just launched a faith-based apparel line. The name of the company is 7 missiles, from a dream that I had in March. I have been blessed with two amazing partners to help fuel the vision. Our mission is to fire all 7 missiles (Power, prayer, authenticity, healing, peace, joy and strength) within each product, in order to bring glory to God and reveal the intent of Jesus Christ. The goal is for every customer to be able to enjoy wearing their impact. For Black Friday, we had our largest sale yet, and I am really excited about what all we have planned beyond the apparel.
Needless to say, what God is doing both through my music and business have opened new avenues of creativity, beyond the four walls of the church. I have had the privilege of serving and leading worship at different churches and I’m so grateful that God is allowing me to continue in that assignment while developing 7 missiles.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I honestly feel that having peace in whatever path God has chosen for me is the one characteristic that has gotten me to where I am today.
Knowing that there is no way that I could have chosen this path for myself has given me the ability to trust God with every step.
What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe that throughout my life, and now within business, God has intentionally blessed every moment and every assignment or endeavor with which I have been involved. I believe that I’m not lucky enough, but that I’m loved enough to succeed and grow to do so much more. At only 20 years old, I’ve been committed to intentionality in all areas of my life. So, with that being said, I believe that if I continue to pray and have faith, that God will continue to fuel and feed my vision and dreams, within His purpose for my life.
