Today we’d like to introduce you to Aly and Jay Boschert.
Aly and Jay, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Food and travel have always been a part of our lives separately and had grown immensely since we met in 2005. We travel for food!! In addition to traveling, we are also avid home cooks and love dining out and sharing experiences with others.
Once we met in 2005, we’ve been together almost every day aside from work travels. Speaking of work travels, Jay’s work led us to Berlin, Germany in 2010. We were there for two years. Not able to obtain a work visa, I poured myself into cooking! After Berlin, we moved back to Indy (where we met) before moving to Fort Worth exactly one year ago! We love Fort Worth: the people, the city and the food!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well everyone has challenges and obstacles, however, we have been fortunate enough to endure most of ours at an earlier age. Since we’ve met we have maintained a positive attitude towards life, focusing on balance, nature, food and travel. Each year our love grows deeper.
Foodietrekkers – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Lovers of food and travel, we appreciate food from all over the world. We prefer delicious street food to a fancy Michelin starred restaurant. We believe great food can be easy, simple and delicious if using fresh, quality ingredients made with love. Anytime we review we are honest and open about our experiences.
Food photography, food styling and Instablogging is as much of a passion these days as the actual food itself. We strive to make the food shine and look as good as it tastes! We enjoy working with people to get their recipes, restaurants and businesses the recognition the deserve!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
People reaching out to us on Instagram stating they’ve tried our recipes or asking for our recipes! Most times we use knowledge we’ve learned from traveling, food shows and magazines and creating our own spin without following recipes.
