Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Bergmann.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Stephanie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The beginning of The Fox and Flower was definitely fortuitous but has grown into a successful floral design studio. It all began when I was asking for a donation certificate from Fixe Southern House in The Shops at Clearfork for the annual Fort Worth Garden Club Flower Show.
During the conversation, it came up that they had been interviewing florists for their restaurant and would I be interested. The next week I delivered the first set of flowers to their restaurant and customers loved them. The guest and employee feedback was infectious and The Fox and Flower was born. Each week I enjoy creating a flower experience. I have even added love notes with the arrangements that guests could take back to their tables. That was a huge success. We added several more restaurants to our weekly schedule. Kendra Scott reached out and we began providing event services to them as well. Today we offer everything from weekly service to social events and editorial.
Designing flower arrangements has become an extension of my creative pursuits. I have always gardened and love to create whether it is in textiles, paint or flowers. I love the use of color, texture, design element and anything to give the design that something extra. I juggle my time between selling floral accounts, making floral designs and my full-time job as a mother and an occupational therapist. Whether it is my children, my patients or my floral clients, I really enjoy making everyday life better.
Has it been a smooth road?
The business has grown as the demand for floral designs, arrangements and events has grown. The growth has been organic. Some weeks are more demanding and busier than others. The challenges are in locating flowers that meet the client and my needs and delivering large and heavy floral designs.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
The Fox and Flower is a small floral design business that caters to the needs of the client, whether in weddings, events, restaurants/business or editorial. All designs are unique to each demand. Generally, there is a mixture that is organic from my garden, locally grown materials and those shipped from farmers across the globe. Creativity and unique design are specialties of the business and the main reason why individuals reach out to us. Collaboration and custom design are the hallmark of the business. I was most proud when I was commissioned to provide a floral design for Tricia Yearwood Legends Tour with UNT Health Science center by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel that the DFW area is a very open and diverse community that is always moving towards more creative ventures to reach a wider audience.
