Meet Cynthia Randle of Dallas Uptown Realtors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Randle.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My real estate career started back in August 2013 with Dallas City Center. It was not glamorous by any means, signing up for phone duty to get leads as much as I could but even then it was a bit slow not having the leads that I desired and did not have the money to buy leads either. Six months later, I joined a different brokerage where they did a lot more leasing than selling but figured I would make this my niche. I decided to bring what I had learned at the other brokerage (selling homes) to this smaller company named (Dallas Apartment Finders).

When I started, I worked Monday thru Sunday going to the office everyday from Monday thru Saturday to get any leads that walked in the office and also learn from the owner himself. I worked every lead that came my way no matter the budget, I was helping people buy $20,000 condos to leasing $900 1/1 bedroom apartments. I had a goal set for myself that I would help about 10-12 clients a month and pushed myself everyday. In about three months, I was where I wanted to be, had met my goals and I was pretty consistent. I was where I wanted to be financially but I kept pushing the envelope and beating every record set by passed agents.

Just to give you an idea of what I do:

I help about 10-12 people find an apartment/condo/home to rent on a monthly basis that is the goal I have set for myself and sell a home a month. Most real estate agents usually do not want to work with renters but I love to. I get to keep in touch with my clients and then is more of a friendship relationship when we are out looking for homes in a year or two. I have had the pleasure of growing with my clients and I absolutely love it. I started my career helping my clients buy $20,000 condos or lease a $1500 1/1 apartment in uptown and then in about a year or two help them purchase $300,000-500,000 homes. I am now working towards my brokers license which hopefully will have that accomplished by the end of the year.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not! As a real estate agent we work on 100% commission so if I do not work or get sick or leads aren’t coming we do not get paid. Of course, just like any realtor we have a great months and some bad months. But what has helped me has been my determination to keep going even if it feels like what I am doing is not getting anywhere. I keep pushing and working hard and slowly but surely get out of the rut.

Please tell us about Dallas Uptown Realtors.
So my company helps people relocate from all over the state or world sometimes. I have people that are moving from Australia, Germany, New York, Florida for a new job. I help them find a place, whether it be finding an apartment, rental home or buying a home. Most of my clients are looking to rent, but I take that opportunity and turn those clients a year later into first-time homeowners. As a real estate agent, I have been able to stay consistent through the last six years of my career. I now have two agents under me which I am training and helping them to succeed in their real estate career. I am hoping to grow my team to 8-10 agents by end of 2020.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing differently, I would keep everything the same, I think all the hardships you go through are necessary to learn from and they make you a better and stronger person.
