Meet 99 The Rebel

Today we’d like to introduce you to 99 The Rebel.

99 The Rebel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started doing music at the age of 10. I’ve always had a strong love and passion for music and fashion. I learned to play a few instruments such as the piano, trombone, and tuba. I started rapping at the age of 12. By the time I was a sophomore in high school I released my first mixtape called “Very Rare”. The name Very Rare came from my clothing line I started at 16. After experiencing hardships such as losing family and loved ones, I started taking rapping more serious after high school and I have not looked back since.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never a smooth road. Growing up in a single parent household in Oak Cliff was very real. Shit is not sweet. Having to find ways to get by in a struggling environment was hard. Jehovah God got us through everything. I love my dad greatly, he is in my life also but we live in different homes. Losing close friends at a young age really bothered me mentally. I still can’t touch on that but a lot of hardships in my life indeed.

What else should our readers know?
I make dope music and clothing to make people feel good about themselves.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My guys Dennis and Lordslatt are my right hands. My blood brothers hold me down too and keep me in line when I’m wrong. All my brothers, I been in the trenches with grinding and getting to a bag know exactly who they are and are loved and appreciated. I love and appreciate all my supporters that hold me down, they keep me going.
